Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, Michael Olson will tell you that he was just about born on a church pew in a Wednesday night service, or so the story goes. His father held positions as church organist and deacon, while his mother served as assistant choir director, effectively securing Michael's love for music at an early age Proficient on piano, drums and guitar, Olson has also played in the backing bands for Sara Groves and Michael W. Smith. In 2005, he released his solo debut, Long Arm of Love, in which bigger-than-life vocal chops married their pristine licks with gutsy lyrics of real life and faith. His sophomore follow-up, Where Fear and Faith Collide, is sure to expand on his loyal audience when it releases February 13, 2007.
