Stu G is a guitarist, songwriter, producer, author, and visionary. He is most widely known as the guitarist for the British band Delirious?, who, for nearly two decades, penned many of the best-known worship songs in modern Christendom. He was also a member of the distinguished CompassionArt songwriters collective, which included heavy-hitters, Martin Smith, Matt Redman, Paul Baloche, Darlene Zschech, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Israel Houghton.

After studying at London’s Guitar Institute, he formed the Stuart David band, lighting up the London club scene in the late 80’s, before rebranding as The Treasure Park. Stu quickly emerged as a sought-after session guitarist, which eventually led him to a young Martin Smith, who was leading worship at a youth event called “Cutting Edge”. The band changed its name to Delirious?, and after seventeen years, fifteen albums and several world tours, they spearheaded a movement that reinvented church music and the Christian entertainment-meets-worship experience.

In the spring of 2017 Stu released The Beatitudes Project. Over a decade in the making, this incredible achievement includes:

1.   A book: Words From The Hill: An Invitation to the Unexpected, (NavPress).

2.   A full-length album: Beatitudes, (Stugiology Music/The Fuel Music), featuring Stu G along with Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Hillsong UNITED, Martin Smith, Matt Maher, Audrey Assad, John Mark McMillan, Amanda Cook, Propaganda, All Sons & Daughters, Terrian Bass and The Brilliance.

3.    And a documentary film, View From The Hill.

In all three of these offerings, Stu says the purpose is, “To help us understand that The Beatitudes are not just another list of things that we fail to measure up to. We want to change the world, but have no idea how to do it. If we allow these announcements to show us that God is with us at the bottom of life, the beatitudes will change us and invite us to a different way of seeing and being in the world.”

This fall, Stu launches a national tour to share the message of The Beatitudes Project with colleges, universities, and churches. At these events, Stu will speak on the Beatitudes, share songs from the record and premier the film.

Stu lives in Nashville with his wife Karen, and is always looking for new collaborators to move beyond the familiar into new ideas and concepts.

“People are my energy and inspiration. It’s in people that I see why creation was such a good idea.”
